The New England Farm 2 Fork Project will present a "Forty-Mile Meal" at Raven Hill Orchard, a certified organic apple orchard in East Waterboro, ME.
The dinner will feature locally made artisan and farmstead cheeses, pastured local lamb, heirloom apples, local beef, panna cotta, salad, apple sauce cake, and many other locally raised products. There will be six to eight courses, served in manageable portions to allow diners to sample the varied cuisine. The dinner will be served each night at 6 p.m. All cuisine is prepared by Chef Sebastian Carosi, founder of the New England Farm 2 Fork Project. Tickets are $40 per person. Pesce Italian Kitchen in Portsmouth, NH and Enoteca Italiana of Kittery, ME have teamed up to create a Night in Rome on March 16th. Experience Roman "street food" at the bar as Chris Souter, owner of Enoteca Italiana, serves up his knowledge of Roman culture and food. Then, enjoy a three-course Roman menu featuring some of the city's most delicious cuisine. The Roman bar menu is $10 per person, and the three-course Roman dinner is $19.00 per person. To celebrate the new Pesce Italian Kitchen, the restaurant is offering a prixe fix menu of Italian comfort food. The three-course Trattoria Menu is $19.00 per person, and is available Sunday through Thursday (Pesce is closed on Mondays through the winter.)
Wednesdays are wine tasting nights, and Wednesday, March 10th, join Pesce for a complimentary wine tasting hosted by Wine Berries from 5 to 7 p.m.

The New England Marketplace Specialty Food and Artisan Market will be held Saturday, March 6th, and Saturday, March 27th, in the Picker Building at One Washington Center in Dover, NH from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event will feature gourmet chocolates, specialty nuts, blueberry products, dog treats, pickles, hot sauces, cheese, dessert hummus, and many other food choices, plus pottery, paintings, photography, wood turned items, Windsor chairs, candles, jewelry, and many other unique works. The Lollipop Tree, a popular food business in downtown Portsmouth, may be sold at auction, or be sold to new owners in a private sale, sometime this month. The founding owners ran into a series of serious financial difficulties and have been forced to sell.

The Blue Moon Market and Café in Exeter, NH will be offering the "Tuesday Night Soup Series," starting this month. Blue Moon chef/owner Kathy Gallant will teach this hands-on soup preparation class. Attendees should bring their favorite soup pot (1 gallon minimum), and favorite prep knife, and she will supply the ingredients and instruction. With Kathy's guidance, you'll prepare a pot of soup (serving 6 to 8) from scratch, to take home and enjoy. Cost is $40 per class, or $125 for the series.
