The Maine Lobster Chef of the Year competition is calling for Maine lobster recipes from all of the state’s chefs, sous chefs, food service owners and operators, and food educators. In addition, this year’s competition is also open to culinary students living or working in Maine.

Maine Food & Lifestyle Magazine and the Maine Lobster Promotion Council are sponsors of the competition, which includes multiple categories for recipes, among them: Appetizers, Soups and Stews, and Entrees. Prizes are awarded for “Best Overall,” “People’s Choice,” and the “Maine Lobster Emerging Talent Award.” Deadline for recipe submission is midnight on May 31. Five finalists will be chosen, and a cookoff will then be held at The Blaine House in Augusta on July 22. For more information, visit www.lobsterfrommaine.com, or call (207) 287-5140.
