Dennis "DennyMike" Sherman of York, Maine recently took the world of authentic Texas barbecue by storm. At the 18th Annual National Barbecue Association's Conference & Expo, held February 17-21 in Austin, Texas, five barbecue products from Sherman's business, "DennyMike's 'Cue Stuff"  earned top "Award of Excellence" medals. His "Pixie Dust" rub won gold in the dry rub category, while the "Chick Magnet" rub won gold in the all purpose dry rub/seasonings category, and the "Cow Bell Hell" rub won a silver for packaging design. Sherman also picked up two fourth place awards for other barbecue sauces.
