The Portsmouth Brewery in Portsmouth, NH has pledged to compost all of their food waste in 2010. The Brewery, a popular lunch and dinner spot, is working with Rian Bedard, leader of the Green Alliance, and a composting expert, to compost 100 percent of their food waste and paper products at Bartlett Farm in Eliot, ME. The Brewery was already using compostible to-go containers, and was sending some of their food scraps to a pig farm in Sanford, ME. This next step is a logical one. Other Portsmouth Restaurants are making the same commitment, including Two Ceres, Poco's Bow Street Cantina, Me & Ollie's, plus Robert's Maine Grill in Kittery, Maine.
