(TV Diner) - Celebrating its first anniversary at the end of July, Me & Ollie's Café in Greenland, New Hampshire was bright and comfortable with a grand display of fresh baked stylish breads that were the heart of the menu of sandwiches, salads and soups.
As a soup choice, the Vegetarian Chili was well-appointed with spices that unlocked the essence of the multi-bean and tomato base.
A chunk of San Francisco Sourdough made it just right.
With a slice of honey whole wheat, the Greek Isle Salad brought out salty and sweet with the textures of romaine, red peppers, kalamata olives, cucumber, red onion and feta.
Light and creamy cucumber dressing topped this great classic.
Deep and strong, the balsamic came through marinated poultry in the crisp Italian Grilled Chicken Panini.
It was a sure fire winner - with melted provolone over onions, garlic, tomatoes and fresh basil in chewy Ciabatta.
The Ollie's favorite Albacore Tuna went light on the mayo adding shredded carrots, celery, poppy seeds and dill to the albacore mixture.
Piled high between triple seed bread, it was thick, tasty and satisfying.
We couldn't resist the cinnamon buns among the dessert choices in the glass case. One was warmed and slathered with frosting and, the other---the Jolly Ollie-was topped with fresh juicy blueberries and streusel.
Both humongous rolls had layers of sweet butter and moist dough swirling with deep veins of cinnamon---just wonderful!
The pleasant staff prepared plates and drinks fast in a busy place.
The food was inexpensive for quality and quantity with soups around four dollars, sandwiches and salads ranging from three to seven-fifty and pastries around two dollars.
Easily accessed with great parking, Me & Ollie's is a trendy café serving an honest to goodness healthy menu with premium meats, fresh produce and homemade spreads generously applied to traditional American or European artisan breads.
The full coffee bar includes perfect lattes and chais and the varied and economical bill of fare makes it a great stop.
They even make one heck of a Fluffernutter!
Me & Ollie's earns the Gold Plate.
