Restaurant Week Portsmouth Spring 2019's cocktail challenge grand prize winner was Jake Mehrmann of The Friendly Toast in Portsmouth, NH. The winning drink is titled The "Handsome Devil" featuring Barr Hill Gin.
Six Seacoast area bartenders competed for the coveted title this year. Tom Cat Gin, made by Caledonia Spirits, was the base spirit for each cocktail.
Adapted from The Friendly Toast
1.5 oz Bar Hill Tom Cat Gin
.75 oz Ancho Reyes Liqueur
.75 oz lemon juice
3 oz fresh, organic apple juice
2 drops clove tincture
Shake all ingredients together with ice and strain into a Double Old Fashioned glass with ice. Garnish with dehydrated apple and lemon slice pierced by a clove. Enjoy!
