The 12 Best Seafood Restaurants in Portsmouth

Formerly the Sise Inn, The Hotel Portsmouth is under new ownership and is adding a full-service boutique hotel option to downtown Portsmouth. Daniel Innis and Doug Palardy, the folks who brought elegant-cool accommodations to Portsmouth with the Ale House Inn, are helming this venture with the newly remodeled Hotel Portsmouth, just reopened this April.

The inn has 32 guestrooms, with free parking. Fully renovated bathrooms; a redesign featuring a warm, sophisticated blue and gray color palette; and high-end amenities like luxury linens and in-room iPads loaded with the staff’s favorite restaurant menus and attraction information, add a modern flair to the historic, Victorian-era mansion.

But rivaling even the hotel’s amenities is its ideal location downtown. “It’s within walking distance for everything, if you want to park your car and leave it there for the weekend,” says Assistant Manager Chris Drake. For those who’d rather ride, the hotel also plans to have bikes available for guests to borrow. Just relaxing at the hotel is a great option, too, with its complimentary continental breakfast; wine and craft beer bar with small plates for snacking; and a parlor, study, and patio where guests can lounge.
